People we recruited ourselves

Every PocketsFull member joined through our app or website, so we can tell you how they came to the panel and what they were promised. If a study needs more people than our own panel can supply, we tell you before fieldwork starts.

  • Recruited through our own app

Members join PocketsFull on Android or on the PocketsFull website. We find them with our own app advertising.

  • Profiled before they are invited

Each member fills in a profile survey, which helps us match them to studies they can actually take.

  • Checked before each survey

The app asks a survey's qualifying questions first. If the answers do not fit, the survey does not open.

  • Paid for finishing well

Members are paid for completes, not clicks. Quality fails earn nothing, and an hourly limit on survey starts slows down anyone who rushes.

Before the survey · In the PocketsFull app

Members are checked before a survey opens

When a PocketsFull member taps a survey, the app first asks that survey's qualifying questions. If the answers do not fit, the survey does not open, so fewer people who cannot qualify reach your screener.

At the door · As each person opens the survey

FraudCheck decides who gets in

Repeat entries from the same device or IP address, people outside the countries you allow and VPN or proxy traffic are stopped as they arrive. You choose per survey whether a failed check ends the survey for that person or only flags them.

  • Country mismatch

  • Threat score
  • Length limits

While they record · Video and audio answers

Recordings are checked as they are made

A quick camera check confirms a live person is in front of the camera, in enough light. Each recording is then checked for length, words and topic. If it fails, the person sees why and records again.

After the answers · Against the whole sample

Every respondent is compared with everyone else

Once answers are in, each respondent is checked for rushing, the same answer down a whole grid, gibberish and off-topic answers. Every flag comes with its reason.

You decide · Before the data is delivered

A flag is a decision, not a deletion

Checks on every response

Two layers: who gets in, and how they answered

Layer 1 · At the door

FraudCheck

FraudCheck runs as each person opens a CatalyseAI study, before they answer a single question. It stops repeat entries, people outside your country and traffic from VPNs or proxies, and you decide per survey whether a failed respondent is terminated or only flagged.

Layer 2 · In the answers

Response quality checks

In a CatalyseAI study, every respondent is checked for rushing, straight-lining, gibberish and off-topic answers, and video answers are checked while they are recorded. Each flag comes with a reason, and you decide who stays in the data.

What we report back

The checks travel with your data

You see what was checked, what failed and why, not just a cleaned file.

  • A Validation tab in every report

One row per respondent, with a pass or fail for each check and the reason behind every flag.

  • A file you can pass on

Download the validation summary as a CSV, to send to a sample supplier or keep with the project files.

  • Numbers for every video question

Accepted answers, re-recordings, average relevance and attention, and which checks sent attempts back.

  • Every start accounted for

Each start is recorded as a complete, a screen-out, an over quota, a security terminate or a drop-out, on both sides when your survey is hosted elsewhere.

  • Removals agreed with you

On sampling projects we review the data for incomplete answers, failed trap questions, speeders, straight-liners and contradictions, and agree any removals with you before the final count.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Are flagged respondents removed automatically?

No. Answer checks flag people in the validation summary and you decide, one by one or with auto-reconcile. The exception is video: a recording that fails the camera or light check goes back to the person to record again. FraudCheck, which runs when people arrive, can terminate them on entry if you choose.

Does FraudCheck look at the answers themselves?

No. FraudCheck decides who gets in. Response quality checks look at how people answered, such as rushing, straight-lining, gibberish and off-topic answers.

Are panel members paid if a security check removes them?

Not on our PocketsFull panel. A security fail earns the member nothing for that survey.

Can I overrule a check?

Yes. Force a pass or a fail and add a reason. The change is logged, and undo restores the respondent's earlier status.

What is ISO 20252?
